"Look and See"
Anonymous

My life is an awkward silence.
It is a blue moon in a sea of mermaids.
It is a lonely forest - mysterious and wanting.
It is the rain that falls from skittles.
It can be moon dust mixed with sun rays.
But most of all
it's a rainbow of emotions, friends, family, love, hurt, evil, and
neverending doors.

I am a Youth Options student and a liberal, free spirit in every sense.

"April Fool's Day"
By Ocie Kilgus

It’s really such a pity
to awaken not slightly giddy.
For the day is such
to fool so much.
In the spirit of the hour
as the early morning flowers
devise a delicious prank
To those so very frank.
The writing of senseless limericks passes the time in the waiting room, on the plane, and on sleepless nights. This one initiates National Poetry Month and celebrates the innocent nature of April 1st. Of course, my apologies go to Calvin Trillin!
